Faiz Ariffin on how bodybuilding gives shape and purpose to his life and those of others
In the What Matters To Me series, a Generation T honouree describes what they do, why they do it, and why it matters.
Faiz Ariffin entered the world of bodybuilding at the age of 14, with the plan to improve his competitive swimming performance and taekwondo skills. By the age of 19, he was already winning bodybuilding medals. Since then, he's continued to win awards in the world bodybuilding circuit, such as the Asian and World Championships. Ariffin also has his own brand of quality workout wear, FZgear, and advocates a healthy lifestyle as the face of AirAsia Fitness, helping thousands of online followers to achieve their body goals. Here, he introduces his work in his own words.
Bodybuilding gives me satisfaction, even though it is a long-term process which needs a lot of patience and determination to succeed. Bodybuilding is also something that can keep you away from bad habits like smoking, as you feel more responsible for the development of yourself.
