Why The New Lexus UX 200 SUV Makes Driving A Real Pleasure
One look and you can tell instantly that the Lexus UX 200 is no ordinary SUV. Boasting a sleek, angular exterior with a stellar interior and engine to match, the Japanese automaker’s latest release brings fresh dynamism to the compact SUV segment, combining superlative engineering and design with traditional Japanese craftsmanship so rarely found in the automobile world.
The project was overseen by Japan’s first female chief engineer, Chika Kako, who described the design of the UX 200 as brave, a combination of “the feeling of the sporty and the glamorous”.
A stylish, harmonious design
Based on the ‘urban explorer’ concept, the design combines strength, refinement, stylishness and functionality in one stunning car. From the distinctive spindle grille that evokes strength and power to the aerodynamic profile accentuated by the racing car-inspired LED Aero Stabilizing Blade Lights that double as aerodynamic spoilers, the UX 200 scores high on the aesthetic without compromising on performance.
The all-new Lexus UX is truly a product of immense technology and craftsmanship creatively engineered by a team spearheaded by Lexus’ first female Chief Engineer. It seamlessly connects to the soul inspired by the spirit of Japanese traditional architecture.

The Lexus Safety System + employs several sophisticated sensors, cameras and systems to help mitigate road accidents through alerts and semi-autonomous actions including Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Stop & Go Function & Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Adaptive High-beam System (AHS).
Clearly a tech-savvy car, additional practical features like the Lexus Remote Touch Interface (RTI) with a haptic interface designed to replicate smartphone usability, wireless charging and a back door with kick-open function only sweeten the pot.
