There is now more reason to stop by the Hong Kong International Airport beyond its food with the opening of Cathay Pacific’s new Business Class Lounge.

The fully refurbished lounge called 'The Pier' awaits to pamper your tired body and jetlagged spirit with 3,306 square metres of luxury, approximately 1,000 square metres larger than the previous lounge. This makes it the largest Cathay Pacific lounge of all, capable of seating up to 550 people at a go.

Located adjacent to Gate 65 in the North West concourse of HKIA, the new space is designed by Studiolise, the London-based design studio led by Ilse Crawford. It is specially crafted to reflect Hong Kong as a city, efficient where it counts and relaxing where need be.

This is made possible by the division of the lounge into 2 “streets” – fast and slow. The fast lane is where guests will find an array of food and beverage offerings in the dining options, which include The Food Hall and The Noodle Bar.

The slow lane is where the lounge seats are, complete with big glass windows and glazed timber screens. The place is also equipped with Cathay Pacific’s bespoke Solo Chairs that come with built-in reading lamps, individual side tables and more.

There’s also the Tea House – a brand new feature exclusive to The Pier Business Class Lounge. Here is where your journey to wellbeing starts, where a wide selection of teas is served by trained tea specialists to help you de-stress and unwind before resuming your journey.

Following in Cathay Pacific’s brand ethos, the lounge is designed to emphasise a contemporary Asian feel with a focus on warmth and simplicity using natural materials like limestone and cherry wood, laid out in a wide, spacious manner. Local artworks by Hong Kong artists add to the atmosphere, doubling as a platform to showcase homegrown talents.

The Pier Business Class Lounge is accessible to First and Business Class passengers, Silver and above Marco Polo Club members, members of all tiers who earned lounge passes and/or their friends and family members, and Emerald and Sapphire oneworld members who are departing or transiting in Hong Kong. The opening hours will be 5:30am until the last departure.
