The special edition AirPods Pro features an adorable emoji to celebrate the Year of the Ox
To celebrate Chinese New Year—which happens to be the Year of the Ox and falls on February 12—Apple has launched a special edition of its AirPods Pro, featuring a charging case adorned with a cute ox-themed artwork inspired by Apple’s Animoji characters. Depicting a winking baby ox popping out from a larger ox’s head with stars floating around, the unique graphic will also decorate the packaging of the limited-edition earphones in red. Customers can add custom text to their celebratory headphones, or even swap out the ox emoji for an entirely different icon.
According to Apple, there’s only 25,400 editions of these Chinese New Year AirPods Pro available—11,480 will be reserved for retail stores while 13,920 will be sold online in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.
Apple has also unveiled a special Chinese New Year gift guide on its website, featuring gift ideas such as iPhone 12 models, MagSafe accessories, Apple Watch, iPads and more.
