Apple To Open Its First Floating Store At Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
If you've been wondering what the dome-like structure located on the water by Marina Bay Sands is going to be, you're not alone. The answer’s finally here: Apple is opening its third outlet in Singapore. It takes over the space that was previously occupied by Avalon nightclub, making it the world’s first floating Apple store.
In an announcement on its website, Apple said: “We will soon open the doors to our new store by the Bay. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new.”
The statement was accompanied by a moving image of an Apple logo that looks like it is half-submerged in water.
However, fans will have to make do with just the information on its upcoming location. There is currently no word on the opening date or any other details at the time of writing.
Apple opened its first store in Singapore to much fanfare back in 2017, at Knightsbridge mall in Orchard Road. Till today, it stands out among the other malls on the shopping belt thanks to its stunning glass facade, the huge outdoor canopy and its beautiful stone staircases located inside. Its second store was launched at Jewel Changi Airport in July last year.
Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Apple shut all its stores outside of Greater China temporarily back in March. Apple stores in Singapore re-opened on June 24, following the announcement of phase two of Singapore's safe re-opening, with safe distancing measures in place.
