BMW Updates Its Sports Car Of The Future With The New i8 Coupé
Premium car maker BMW recently debuted its all new i8 Coupé in Kuala Lumpur, a car created to epitomise extreme power without sacrificing efficiency that first made its debut in 2014.
With strikingly sporty aesthetics, the new plug-in hybrid i8 Coupé boasts a top speed of 250km/h, a fuel consumption of 1.8 litres per 100km and an all electric range of 55 kilometres.
Capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds (the BMW M5 does this in 3.4 seconds), this new car also has increases the number of driving situations where the electric motor of the car is solely used to power the car, therefore reducing emissions.
The high-voltage battery in the new i8 model now also features an increased cell capacity of 33 Ah, versus the previous 20 Ah, with an increased motor output of 105 kW.
Its sleek updated exterior design features optimised aerodynamics, allowing air to be channelled efficiently thanks to a combination of smart design choices that don't sacrifice functionality over style.
Not just stylish on the outside, its interior further drives home the dynamic sporty design concept embodied by the car.
BMW proclaims that all of the car's controls and display elements are within perfect optimal reach of the driver, providing excellent legibility, such as a dynamic head-up display that delivers all the relevant information to the driver without the need to take their eyes off the road.
Available in "crystal white with a frozen grey highlight" exterior with a 'black amido" interior, or a new BMW Individual special paintwork called "donington grey" with "black accaro", the new i8 Coupé is now available at all authorised BMW i dealerships.
The retail price for the car in Peninsular Malaysia starts at RM1,310,800, without insurance and SST, and more information can be found on the carmaker's official website.
