November last year saw Datuk Ramli Ibrahim in the ancient  city of Konark in Eastern India.

Known for the Sun Temple of Odisha, the most enduring homage to Surya the Sun God, this temple wonder provided the perfect backdrop for Datuk Ramli in his simple odissi dhoti to be photographed by A Prathap, bringing to life the Datuk Ramli’s intricate dance moves.

In the  misty morning light, Datuk Ramli got in touch with a series of personas – the lion, the elephant, the lotus as well as the eternal wheel of time – inviting them to dance with him backdropped against the breathtaking temple grounds. Prathap’s lenses clicked rapidly and immortalised the poetic movements of the dance.

Finally these images are ready to be revealed in a special exhibition entitled ‘Ramli in Konark’ happening from May 20 – June 20, 2016.

The photos invite visitors to discover the inner equanimity and joy that flow through the communion of a dancer, a fitting tribute to Surya who dances in everlasting rhythm with time.

Held at the Sutra Gallery, the exhibition is open for viewing from 9am – 5pm weekdays. For more information, please call 03 – 4021 1092 or log on to the official website here.
