Space geeks – assemble! Non-space geeks can trudge along too! The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is giving Singaporeans, and by extension, their neighbours to the north the chance to explore an exhibition no other at the ArtScience Museum in conjunction with the Art and Science of Space season.

‘NASA – A Human Adventure’ is promising to take visitors on an in-depth and immersive journey into the world of space exploration, as well as technological advancements.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is the full-scale reconstruction of the front section of the Space Shuttle. Space enthusiasts can experience what it’s like to be on the flight deck and the mid-deck, where astronauts fly, sleep and eat on the space shuttle.

Other attractions include a simulated flight of the Liberty Bell 7, that managed a fifteen-and-a-half minutes of suborbital flight in 1961, before landing in the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can also experience a short but thoroughly exhilarating ride while trying to withstand 2Gs of force on the G-Force Astronaut Trainer.

The exhibition will also have on display over 200 artefacts and space-fairing items like the Jupiter nose cone that survived planetary re-entry, as well as films taken by Apollo astronauts.

Finally, the ArtScience Museum has commissioned some special work from Venzha Christ, founder of the Indonesia Space Science Society, based on radio astronomy. The project will enable visitors to listen to the sounds of outer space.

‘NASA – A Human Adventure’ is open now and will run until March 19, 2017. Ticket prices range from $20 to $100 for family packages.
