It's All About The Details

The world of gastronomy and automotive engineering may not seem like level playing fields, but Modesto Marini is convinced that there are more similarities than meets the eye.

"It’s the little touches and fine points that make a difference. Like Lexus, we have to make sure that whatever we serve is top level. We have a reputation as one of the finest places in Kuala Lumpur and we have to work very hard to maintain it," says Marini.

Fine Craftsmanship Is Universal

The Lexus LS has the option to add hand-pleated folded upholstery woven into the car's doors, the result of 4 years of development. To achieve that look, a single cloth sheet is folded like origami paper to create a dramatic effect. Take a seat in the car and you'll notice what an affect it will have on the overall passenger experience.

In the world of gastronomy, Marini notes that "from the minute a customer comes in from the lobby to when they see the venue and then try the food, we are offering them an experience. We do our best to be innovative and creative and try to deliver to the best of our abilities."

The Best Of The Best

"It is always important to work with the best ingredients – we use high quality and fresh ingredients and work with a dedicated and talented team of 25 chefs to produce fine food that is appealing to the different senses. Everything is handmade, from bread to pasta to chocolate," says Modesto Marini.

To illustrate that the LS exemplifies the brand's dedication to innovation through Japanese craftsmanship, Lexus designers and Kiriko master craftsmen worked closely together to duplicate the hand-carved appearance of Kiriko cut glass using cutting-edge laser data copying and polishing technology.

The result? A gorgeous glass ornamentation on the door's panels.

Top-Notch Reliability

"Lexus became popular because they had less defects and complaints as compared to other cars. They have always delivered quality and we can relate to that. It is the same thing when you run a restaurant – guest satisfaction is very important," says Marini, who used to own a Lexus coupe in the 90's.
