Award-winning luxury hotel Grand Hyatt Tokyo partners up with famed Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to redesign one of its executive-level suites as part of the Roppongi Hills Takashi Murakami Project. The stay package in the Murakami-designed hotel room is the first of its kind and is being offered exclusively by Grand Hyatt Tokyo.
The room will feature 14 of Murakami's original artwork and sculptures including his signature colourful flower motif which was created specifically for this collaboration. Other items include a 195-centimetre golden Flower Parent and Child sculpture, a plush Flower and Child stuff animal, pugs and flower balls.
During your stay, you can immerse yourself in the world of Murakami—with the special in-room flower dinner course, a flower sweets box with champagne, an autographed art book as well as an optional nail art service that's perfect for fans of his work. The package is so exclusive that it only accepts one reservation per day.

"When I started to travel around the world and stay at hotels, I noticed that there were always works of art exhibited at Hyatt hotels, starting in the entrance area and all the way into individual guestrooms. I remember thinking, ‘Oh, I see there is a need for art in this kind of context.’ It was different from the context of art with which I was working so I was fascinated. I wanted to try dipping into such a world, but I couldn’t find the entrance, and there was just no way in," says Murakami.
"So I am happy to have such a special opportunity to display my work in a hotel room, and make my long-held dream come true," he adds.
