You don’t have to be a designer to appreciate fine interior design, and you don’t even have to appreciate fine interior design to head to HOMEDEC this weekend – a quick glance at their Showhomes will have your brain conjuring up all manner of beautification ideas for your own abode.

Running from April 28 to May 1 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, HOMEDEC is back this year with the theme of ‘Kids Living & Design’ with a clear goal of helping young parents create living spaces for their children that are safe, functional and stylish.

HOMEDEC’s bold and highly-detailed life-size Showhouses – three of them – will be designed by Malaysian interior design firms, Innere Design and Quade Studio, as well child friendly experts Krea Kids. The three designs themselves will be built on three premises – ‘Safe and Sound’, ‘Space planning and colour’, and ‘Fun and Creativity.’

The convention will also be the best place for the best deals and discounts on home items and appliances, from the living room to the kitchen, while also providing visitors the chance to walk away with cash prizes and gold bars worth up to RM100,000. HOMEDEC calls it a ‘Salebration’ and putting the wordplay aside, it’s hard to argue that there isn’t some reason to celebrate.
