Through Stockholm Furniture Fair 2015, we foresee that cocoon-shaped furniture is the new trending decor for your home.

Carving out your own space, cocooning yourself in your furniture and blocking out the world look like they could be major home trends for this year.

High-backed chairs and sofas offering a barrier between the user and their environment are becoming increasingly current.

This week's Stockholm Furniture Fair features "Cocoon", a futuristic armchair which, although it resembles a rocket, is in fact designed to block out background noise. Designed by Skipper Furniture, the piece also lets users hook the chair up to their own devices for a personalized soundtrack.

Also on display at the show will be the "Acoustic Sofa" by Privée, a seat featuring an enclosed structure around it for privacy in open spaces. The sofa also includes a "canopy" roof structure to limit noise reverberations coming from the ceiling.

Less drastic but rocking the same theme is Israeli designer Arik Levy's "Platform" collection, which on show at the fair. The high-backed chairs and sofas have, again, been designed to provide customizable levels of privacy in shared spaces.

Stockholm Furniture Fair runs from 3rd to 7th February 2015.
