Comic book illustrator Annie Goetzinger takes us back to the beginning of Dior through the eyes of young reporter Clara.

The house of Dior is undisputedly one of the biggest fashion names in the world, where its elegant and poetic creations have made fashion history in many ways.

The story of Dior began on 12th February 1947, when the founder Christian Dior debuted his first ever fashion show in 30 Avenue Montaigne.

Many fashion insiders will be all too familiar with the story but for many others, the story has remained untold. Therefore, Dior collaborated with renowned comic book illustrator Annie Goetzinger to create a visual novel that tells the story of Dior in a new and refreshing light.

Thus, 'Jeune Fille en Dior' was born – a fiction visual novel that mixes the Maison's history with poetic freshness. In this particular plot, we are placed in the point of view of Clara, a fictional young reporter who attended the inaugural fashion show.

Through her eyes, we rediscover the exciting fashion show, where the legendary Bar suit was born, along with the life and times of Monsieur Dior.

From the long list of socialites and rich clients to the behind the scenes buzz and the attentiveness of Monsieur Dior when attending to his chéries (muses) and jeunes filles (house models), the book lets us relive the greatest moments of Dior with beautiful and intricate artwork.

Goetzinger says, "I wanted to recount how Dior built his house. There was a real before and after that famous fashion show of 1947."

Priced at approximately RM103, the 'Jeune Fille en Dior' book' is currently available at select bookstores worldwide. The book is also available via eBook format in iTunes.
