Lego Partners With Nintendo For The Ultimate Super Mario Experience
The satisfying ding whenever you collect a coin and the quirky theme song playing in the background is a memory most of us still possess. Over the years, Super Mario has evolved from a cherished childhood memory to a pop culture icon. Thankfully, we can now relive those carefree days with Lego's latest collaboration with Nintendo, the Lego Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) complete with an '80s-style television set. The collaboration between Lego and Nintendo started earlier this year when they released the expansive and highly collectible Lego Super Mario Starter Course.
The latest release recreates the Super Mario gaming experience by allowing fans to build a mechanically functional version of the all-time favourite NES using Lego bricks. The set consists of 2,646 pieces and comes with a connecting cable and plug, a Game Pak and a reader to slot in the Game Pak, as well as a buildable retro TV. Once you have everything set up, just turn the crank at the side of the TV and watch the iconic moustached plumber come to life.
If you also have the Lego Super Mario Starter Course, attach the flat 8-bit Mario figure on top of the TV screen and it will react to on-screen enemies, obstacles and power-ups. To be launched on Aug 1, 2020, the NES retails at RM949.90.
