Join MODA as they partner with Estée Lauder to present a range of activities to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer next month

The colour pink, or more specifically, the pink ribbon, has flourished as a staple in the month of October, acting as a heartfelt tribute and symbol of solidarity for those who have had to endure the battle with breast cancer. This year, MODA (Malaysian Official Designers Association) and Estée Lauder have joined forces to help raise funds and awareness for the cause, culminating in a series of events happening across the month.

2. Pink Buddies’ Day Out (Oct 3)

This initiative gives the opportunity for championing survivors to share their stories and the special person who was with them through it all. Be it a friend, spouse, a family member or even complete strangers, it tells of the importance of having someone beside them through this challenging time in their lives.

Sixteen selected stories will be invited to the Pink Buddies’ Day Out. Each pair of winners (a survivor and her buddy) will be treated to a makeover, from beauty and hair styling to new outfits by participating Malaysian designers. There will also be professional photography and video to record the heartwarming stories and occasion. Last but not least, W Kuala Lumpur will host a special dinner for them.

3. Pink Distance Parade (Oct 10)

With creativity, fun, and, of course, social distancing, the public are invited to parade in support of breast cancer awareness at Pavilion KL. Groups of between of two to four can sign up to walk together in their inventive pink costumes. Be as imaginative as you can—think ridiculously hooped skirts, super-extended shoulder details, gigantic hats, or oversized shoes.

All groups that partake in the parade will receive a goodie bag and the best costumes will win product hampers from Estée Lauder.
