The start of May brings in calmer energies, just in time for Mother's Day. At the end of the month, we'll be pushed to ponder our beliefs as we welcome a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, followed by Mercury in retrograde.
Welcome to May! De Rui, Tatler's astrologist and founder of Hong Kong-based astrology service, Chart Life breaks down what this month has in store for us:
April showers bring May flowers. After last month’s turbulent energies, we have surely earned a breather with planets making plenty of harmonious contacts. Jupiter takes a brief dip in Pisces, which will draw out our collective compassion and idealism.
Our local community, contacts, and neighbourly interactions remain of primary importance as the Moon’s North Node converges with several planets in Gemini. At the end of the month, a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius happening just before Mercury goes into retrograde calls on us to set aside the minutiae in order to ponder our broader attitudes and beliefs.
On Mother’s Day in many parts of the world, the Great Mother asteroid Ceres—known to the ancient Greeks as Demeter, goddess of the grain and harvest—moves into Taurus. In the coming months, we can find nurturance from being closer to the soil, stocking our inner pantry, and seeking sensual experiences. The New Moon happening a few days later, also in Taurus, is a chance to set goals for our physical and material well-being.
Aries
Socialising and communication will flow more effortlessly as the month gets underway. Someone may show up as a source of competitive energy, seemingly bent on taking you down a notch. Choosing to take it as a compliment rather than a threat could make all the difference.
Minor health or productivity issues may be lurking. Try to nip them in the bud as anything left unaddressed could be harder to tackle in a few months’ time.
