'Ms Marvel' Completes Filming, Slated For Release On Disney+ In Late 2021
If you're a Marvel fan, get excited because production on Ms. Marvel has finally wrapped in Thailand despite the pandemic and the restrictions imposed as a result of it. This means that we might be getting an official date for its release soon.
Ms. Marvel is a six-part series that features Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a teenager, who discovers that she has superpowers. It is the first Marvel series to feature a Muslim teen lead character and to have a significant number of Asian cast members.
The show's sets were constructed at the modern studio park facilities which is located on the south-east side of Bangkok. Despite the third wave of Covid-19 cases in Thailand, shooting was able to go on through April and May due to a waiver that was obtained.
The waiver allowed them to continue shooting despite the fact that schools, restaurants, gyms, sports facilities and cinemas were closed and that all film and television productions were asked to stop work.
The filming crew, which was led by Obaid-Chinoy, a two-time Oscar winner, were also divided into three separate bubbles so that in case a Covid-19 infection was found in one bubble, that group of people could be quarantined while the show continued filming.
While an official release date has not been set yet, we do know that the show will be premiering on Disney+ and that it might come out in late 2021.
