Christmas movies not for you? The Liberator is a new four-part animated series based on true events from World War II.

Adapted from the non-fiction book The Liberator: One World War II Soldier’s 500-Day Odyssey from the Beaches of Sicily to the Gates of Dachau, which depicts the experiences of Felix L. Sparks during the war, The Liberator is based on Operation Avalanche and follows the Allied invasion of Italy and the story of the regiment known as the “Thunderbirds.”

Another Christmas movie to indulge in this season, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey follows the story of a toymaker (Oscar winner Forest Whitaker) and his granddaughter as they construct a magical invention in time for the holidays.

The musical adventure, featuring original songs written, produced and performed by John Legend, promises to get even the biggest Scrooge into the festive spirit.

In seaside Italy, an aged Holocaust survivor (Oscar winner Sophia Loren) takes in a young orphan and tries to help him find his way to family and faith, after he is caught stealing from her.

The screenplay is based on the novel The Life Before Us by Romain Gary, with The Life Ahead following the pair as they form an unlikely friendship.

Release date: November 13

Netflix's popular depiction of Queen Elizabeth II's life and reign returns this November for its fourth season.

The series is set from 1977 and 1990, and stars Olivia Coleman as the Queen––with the Oscar-winning actress reprising her role for a second season. Main storylines of the fourth instalment are set to include the Queen's clashes with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (played by Gillian Anderson) and the early days and marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. The new season will also introduce the characters of Prince Harry and Prince William.

Based on the 2016 memoir––and New York Times bestseller––of the same name written by J.D. Vance, Hillbilly Elegy tells the story of J.D. Vance, a Yale Law student who is forced to return to his home town due to a family crisis.

Leaving his life and dream job behind, Vance has to navigate the complex dynamics of his Appalachian family, including his volatile relationship with his mother Bev (Amy Adams), and memories of his grandmother Mamaw (Glenn Close).

Rounding up the Christmas movies hitting Netflix this month is the second instalment of The Christmas Chronicles. 

After the success of the original film released in 2018, Kurt Russel returns as Santa Claus as we head back to the North Pole for a little festive cheer, with Goldie Hawn starring as Mrs Claus.

Directed by Chris Columbus (of Home Alone and Harry Potter fame), the story follows siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce as they unexpectedly ended up in the North Pole to once again help save Christmas.

This new Korean drama follows a group of Counters––or demon hunters––as they come to Earth in order to capture evil spirits in pursuit of eternal life.

The group disguise themselves as employees at a noodle restaurant as they attempt to track down the demons. Adapted from a web comic of the same name, The Uncanny Counter stars include Cho Byeong-kyu from K-drama Sky Castle​ and K-pop singer Kim Se-jeong.
