Luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Patek Philippe has published an official biography, written by British author and historian Nicholas Foulkes. The book is now available to buy via the brand website. 

"The Authorized Biography"

The illustrated biography, counting over 500 pages, contains exclusive documentation from the Patek Philippe archives. Spanning over 175 years of history, the recently released biography includes interviews from the brand's owners, the Stern family, as well as statements from former and current employees and unique anecdotes from the brand's past.

For aficionados of the brand, the biography also includes a 40-page watch reference appendix with picture notes as well as specially commissioned photographs. Honorary President Philippe Stern, and father to the current CEO Thierry Stern, explains that "This is the first time that the Patek Philippe archive has been accessed and brought to life in a factual and definitive work." 

Nicholas Foulkes

A contributing editor at Vanity Fair and the Financial Times, and author of over 20 books, Nicholas Foulkes is an expert in the art and luxury industries, known in particular for his critically-acclaimed trilogy of nineteenth-century hitatler_tatler_stories. As well as penning the brand's biography, Foulkes is also currently an horological consultant for the Patek Philippe magazine.

"The Authorized Biography," published by Penguin Random House, can be bought from the Patek Philippe online library at www.patek.com/en/company/library and is priced at 220 CHF (around RM940)

Through December, the book will become available at the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva, the brand's salons in Geneva, London and Paris, selected bookstores around the world, and via online retailers. Other language editions of "The Authorized Biography" are foreseen for 2018.
