Pernod Ricard has long championed sustainable development and eco-friendly innovations as seen through its Bottled Hope community outreach campaigns.

Most recently, it has also produced a corporate film as part of the campaign – titled  Bottled Hope Sabah – that highlights the situation of the indigenuous inhabitants of Malaysia and calls for awareness and action to help them receive basic infrastructures like electricity and running water.

In particular, the film highlights Pernod Ricard’s Bottled Hope programme, which has distributed 235 BrightBoxes to over 2,000 inhabitants, lending much needed light to their lives with renewable solar energy.

The film recently bagged the Silver Award in the Sustainable Production and Circular Economy category at the Deauville Green Awards, an international film festival promoting sustainable development.

It competed against 300 other films from approximately 30 countries and was awarded the title by an international jury, recognising Pernod Ricard’s initiative in alleviating the hardships of the rural folk in Sabah.

Following the win, managing director of Pernod Ricard Malaysia Terence Ong says, “This award will help us to create greater awareness among a wider audience and we hope to receive generous contributions from our partners and the public so that we can continue impacting lives and helping communities to rise above their poverty cycle and improve their economic and social conditions through the Bottled Hope campaign.”
