What was once a taboo topic, mental health has climbed the ranks as a conversational starter. Celebrities, personalities and even royalty – the recent one being Prince William in a FaceTime conversation with Lady Gaga – have come forward to share and encourage people to be open about mental health.

The Prince and the singer shared a piece of their discussion over an online chat that was part of his Heads Together campaign. The conversation, which took place in their respective parts of the world, depicted a candid yet intimate moment as Lady Gaga recounted her mental health challengeslady gaga x prince william.jpg (original size)

“There’s a lot of shame attached to mental illness. You feel like something is wrong with you,” she explained. “I should be so happy, but you can’t help it when… you are so full of anxiety and the shakes that you can’t barely think,” she added.

To which Prince William responded: “It’s time that everyone speaks up. Just having a conversation with a friend or family member can make such a difference.”
