Currently operating more than 90 hotels and 40 residential properties in over 30 countries, the Ritz-Carlton has been providing luxe hospitality services ever since the 1990s.

Loyalists of the RC brand rejoice; as the luxury hotel becomes the first to bring their brand of service and style to the seas.

Setting sail in 2019, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.LC., part of Marriot International, Inc. has announced their entry into the luxury yachting and cruise market representing a unique foray into the cruise industry for a luxe hotel operator.

This new venture, named as, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, will see the launch of three lavish cruising yachts, the first of which will set sail in the last quarter of 2019.

Unlike conventional cruise liners that are actual representations of gigantic townships having a capacity to harbour thousands of passengers, the Ritz-Carlton yachts are aiming for a more exclusive and intimate travel experience.

These specially crafted vessels will measure only 190-metres giving them the leverage to harbour at ports where other standard cruise liners cannot. The vessels will also feature 149 suites with private balconies that can accommodate 298 passengers and two 138 square-metre lavish duplex penthouse suites for patrons who enjoy travelling with a flair!

Designed by the leading cruise design firm, Tillberg House of Sweden, the penthouses will give guests an unparalleled level of comfort and a reflection of the true Ritz- Carlton hospitality.

“This unique combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a relaxed, casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalized service.” Said Herve Hunter, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C.

Along with private balconies and penthouse suites, the Ritz-Carlton Yachts will also feature a three Michelin-starred restaurant; Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, a signature spa; Wolfsburg; a Panorama Lounge and a wine bar. To provide their guests with a wide-variety of on-board entertainment, plans are underway to set up collaborations with local chefs, musicians and artists allowing guests to explore unique destinations both on-board and ashore.

Synonymous to the distinctive locations of Ritz- Carlton’s luxury resorts, itineraries are being developed to cater guests to signature destinations and voyages ranging from seven to ten days. The first cruise yacht is intended to sail to a wide variety of destinations such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. The intimate size of the vessel means more accessibility to dock at one-off holiday destinations that might not be possible on larger vessels including Capri, Portofino, St. Barths and the old town of Cartagena.
