Medusa – Jewellery and Taboo

Mid-way between fashion and sculpture, the art of fine jewellery is often overlooked. It is often perceived as too close to the body, feminine, precious, ornamental or in some cases, primitive. Breaking those very norms, Medusa brings together over 400 jewellery pieces created by artists, high-end jewellers and contemporary jewellery makers that revolve around breaking the negative preconceptions surrounding jewellery and revealing the jewellery’s underlying subversive and performative potential.

Focusing its attention on the worlds of cars, Fondation Cartier’s Autophoto is all about exploring the relationship of photography with the automobile. Organised in series, it will bring together 500 works made by 100 historic and contemporary artists around the world including Jacques-Henri Lartigue and Yasuhiro Ishimoto. Capturing the geometric design of roadways, the reflection in a rear-view mirror or our special relationships with this everyday machine, the exhibition invites us to look at the world of automobiles in a completely different light.
Pop Art – Icons that matter

Pop Art, just as the name suggests, is bringing American pop art culture to the galleries of Paris. The collection contains remarkable artworks from the Pop Art Movement –a movement that emerged when artists started representing everyday objects and popular mass culture to celebrate and criticise the American way of life at the same time. Hailing from the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the exhibition will showcase more than 60 paintings, sculptures and prints for the very first time in Paris.
