Taman Tasik Shah Alam
Also known as the Shah Alam Lake Gardens, this beautiful park first opened in 1985. It has plenty of trails for jogging and cycling, gazebos, playgrounds, event halls and three gorgeous man-made lakes where boating activities are available. One of the park's lakes, the Eastern Lake, is a stone's throw from the famous Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque.
Taman Wetlands, Precinct 13, Putrajaya
Aside from being a favourite picnic haunt for families and couples in Putrajaya, Taman Wetlands also happens to be the largest man-made freshwater wetland in Malaysia. The park is home to a scenic flamingo pond, a look-out tower with great panoramic views and a Nature Interpretation Centre.

Penang National Park, Teluk Bahang
Did you know that Penang National Park contains the only meromictic lake in Malaysia? Located at Pantai Kerachut, this entrancing lake consists of two layers: one of sea water and another of fresh water. Penang National Park is also home to the Muka Head Lighthouse, along with several species of birdlife, interesting jungle trails and camping spots.

Laguna Park Klang, Pulau Indah
This family-friendly park by popular Pulau Indah property developer Central Spectrum offers plenty of peaceful spots for fishing, picnics, jogging and camping. In addition to a very Instagram-friendly promenade overlooking the coastline, the park also has futsal pitches, playgrounds and a Chinese-Muslim seafood restaurant.

Taiping Lake Gardens, Perak
Opened in the 1880s, Taiping Lake Gardens was Malaya's first public garden. Today, it's a tranquil and green haven for nature lovers and wedding photoshoots, thanks to its fairytale-like quality. The 64-hectare grounds comprise 10 lakes and ponds, jogging tracks, picturesque bridges and a lotus pool.
