If your idea of a weekend is to brush up on your inner creative, the Rainforest Fringe Festival is where you need to be. The festival will take place in Kuching, Sarawak from July 7 to 16 and promises the best in music, arts, crafts, fashion, food and photography from local and international artists.

Unwind over the weekend with some jazz, pop, R&B and old-school Shanghai favourites as artists Mia Palencia, Peter Ong, The Shanghai Sisters, Kael, Hunny Madu and Najwa Mahaiddin take you on a musical ride at the Gardens Theatre Mall from 8:30pm -10pm.

On the Way to the Airport- New Australian Paintings

Reflecting upon the change of course of his life from Malaysia to Australia, artist Anurendra Jegadeva will be presenting a series of 35 portraits entitled ‘On the Way to the Airport – New Australian Paintings’ at Wei-Ling Contemporary, Gardens Mall this weekend from 11am – 7pm.

If you are up for a night of adventurous experimenting, gather up your clan and head to Skullduggery, Damansara. This hidden bar is known for serving up some creatively crazy concoctions such as You Say Potato, Jack O’ Mai and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; that will surely add the ‘spirit’ in your regular Saturday affair.

In an effort to raise money for a new handicapped dogs facility, KL Pooch Resort and Rescue is organising an outdoor carnival for your furry friends this Sunday at Bandar Utama from 10am-7pm complete with a wet and wild corner and talks on pet nutrition.

Wine and Pastry Pairing

To celebrate the French National Day (Bastille Day), the Pastry Institute of St. Honore is conducting a special wine and pastry pairing course on July 14 from 7pm -11pm. Participants will be guided by field experts who will take them through several French delicacies such as fruit tartlets, blue cheese spreads, goat’s quiche and more with a wine that works best for each meal.
