1. The French Film Festival

This year’s French Film Festival (held in conjunction with Le French Festival 2018) takes place in the Klang Valley (12 April-6 May), Penang (3-13 May) and Kota Kinabalu (17-20 May), with a first-time appearance in Johor Bahru (10-13 May). The film festival will feature 16 contemporary French films, complete with English subtitles and screened in selected Golden Screens Cinemas outlets. 2. Igudesman & Joo: Upbeat

3. Rainforest Eco Fest Asia

This family-friendly rainforest celebrates all things eco-friendly in conjunction with World Earth Day. 4. Once Upon A Time Tomorrow

Artist Chris Morin-Eitner ‘paints’ with his photos, transforming well-known city scenes with creative superimpositions that suggest a world devoid of human beings, where fauna and flora dominate skyscrapers. 6. France is Now, Now Is France

In conjunction with their grand opening this month, Gallery des Artistes will launch their first exhibition, France is Now. The exhibition will feature sculptures, photography and paintings by 10 French artists, as well as a live performance by French graffiti artist HeRsk. 7. Shakespeare Demystified: Romeo & Juliet

Don’t miss this interactive 100-minute abridgment of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, performed by the KL Shakespeare Players. The show features central scenes of this play in Shakespeare’s words, accompanied by intermittent narration explaining the metaphors, conflicts and other key themes in the play all in contemporary English – with some local flavour thrown in. 11. DNA Reunion Project

12. Hymen Project

Ivan Lam’s thought-provoking Hymen art exhibit takes up a theme that’s not traditionally spoken of openly, one that’s mostly associated with negative connotations. The use of simple materials like green net, diaper cloth and scarlet paint represent female bodily processes involving blood loss, turning the tables on conventional biases towards the female body. 13. Sarawak Harvest & Folklore Festival 2018
