Groove to the majestic beat of heart-pounding percussion performances by the HANDS Percussion group and international artists like Abbos Kosimov from Uzbekistan, U-Hee Company from South Korea and Ben Walsh from Australia in this exciting drumming festival made up of concerts, workshops and master classes.

Don’t miss the brand new title piece, UNBEATABLE composed by Tuan Leow Yunn and performed by Tan Su Yin, Mat Din, Prakash Kandasamy, Majd Hass, Ng Siu Yee and Leong Kah Miu from HANDS Percussion.

This group exhibition by OUR ArtProjects features the work of artists Chong Siew Ying, Gan Sze Hooi, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Kow Leong Kiang, Minstrel Kuik and Nirmala Dutt. Titled ‘Against the day’ in reference to Thomas Pynchon’s postmodern novel, the exhibition draws attention to the raw emotion of drawings that are poignantly narrative in nature.

What happens when several comedians of Middle Eastern descent gather under one roof? Once again, LOL Events is bringing the best of the international stand-up comedy scene to Malaysia with its latest show, The Middle Eastern Comedy Jam, starring host Ahmed Ahmed, America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Sammy Obeid, Crystal Marie Denha (Spiderman 3), Story Poker co-creator Omid Singh and Feraz Ozel, winner of the Funzine Comedy Competition.

Three venues, two days, and more than 100 musicians forming 14 bands; the Publika Jazz Festival is back in KL. Among the artists in this year’s line-up are Indonesia’s Sandhy Sondoro, Havana Social Club, Evelyn Feroza & Friends and the Asian Jazz Kolektive (AJAKO) featuring musicians from Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore. 8/14 Joanne Kam: La La Lian Nationwide Tour

Featuring brand new material packed into one 90-minute show, Joanne Kam’s La La Lian Tour will make a stop to tickle audiences in Penang on 10 and 11 August with shows also in Kuching (24 August) and Kota Kinabalu (26 August). Storytelling and comedy combine in epic proportions as Joanna shares her experiences from 26 years in entertainment.

Organised by Yayasan Sime Darby and klpac (the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre) is Malaysia’s biggest biennial free-for-all arts festival, themed ‘You, Me + The Arts’ and kicking off in February.
