Babymonster has “battered” their way into the global music sphere, making their long-awaited debut on November 27, 2023. Their debut single, Batter Up, is already topping iTunes’ song charts in 21 countries–including Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Taiwan–and ranking fifth on the iTunes worldwide song chart. At the time of writing, the music video for the bilingual hip-hop track has already racked up over 28 million views in just 24 hours, setting a new record for a debut K-pop group.

Together with her YG Entertainment labelmates, Babymonster's 17-year-old member Asa co-composed the music and lyrics for Batter Up. “We are happy to welcome this day that we have dreamed of for a long time. We will do our best to show our unique musical colours,” the group said in a press statement. “We are also preparing diverse content and events for our fans, so please look forward to them.”
