From urban tourism in Paris to immersing herself in the Unesco sites of her native Thailand, K-pop star Lisa is a great travel planner. Here are a few of her favourite destinations that inspire us

Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa from Blackpink, has had a very busy 12 months. She ended the Born Pink World Tour with her bandmates Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo, held a week-long residency at Parisian cabaret Crazy Horse, launched her artist management company LLOUD, travelled through Europe for various fashion weeks, and much more.

After such an intense schedule, and as her birthday approaches, we imagine the rapper has a relaxing break planned, for a little R&R and to celebrate with friends and family.

In past years, Lisa has proved to be a great travel planner, alternating her time off between energising urban tourism and relaxing immersive experiences in nature. We look at some of the most beautiful destinations she’s been travelling to lately, and what she did there.

1. Discover Australia’s wildlife

While on tour with Blackpink in June 2023, Lisa took a quick trip to Australia’s Rottnest Island to meet one of the cutest and happiest marsupials on earth: the quokka.

Following a concert in Melbourne, the K-pop star decided to go to Perth to take a boat to the idyllic island after her fans advised her to do so. She posted her day trip on social media, sharing adorable selfies captioned: “Such a long trip to go see you in person bro”.

2. Tour Thailand’s ancient archaeological sites

Lisa’s native country is full of stunning landscapes and rich with archaeological heritage sites, including Buddhist temples, monasteries and statues. The ancient city of Ayutthaya, a Unesco World Heritage site an hour away north from Bangkok, is one of them.

Blackpink’s rapper travelled there last summer, toured the ruins and Buddhist temples, and dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the city. She made sure to post stunning pictures of herself visiting the historical site, dressed in a sarong and blouse. Lisa’s appearance in Ayutthaya drew a lot of tourism, according to local authorities, with many fans rushing to the city to follow in the K-pop star’s footsteps.

3. Immerse yourself into Hawaii’s nature

Blackpink’s lead dancer and rapper has had a long love affair with Hawaii. In an interview with pop culture site Complex in 2021, she declared that the island state was her “GOAT vacation spot”, and it’s easy to understand why.

From challenging hikes that reward you with breathtaking views to serene botanical gardens and vibrant marine preserves, Hawaii is a playground for nature lovers.

4. Swim through Greece’s Blue Caves

What screams “holiday” more than blue skies and crystal-clear water? In August 2023, the K-pop idol shared snaps of herself against just such a setting.

Lisa was enjoying a vacation on Greece’s Zakynthos island, which is well known for its series of arches and caves called “the Blue Caves”. The island has been particularly popular with K-drama fans, as some scenes from Descendants of the Sun (2016) were filmed there.

5. Live the Parisian life

After Thailand and South Korea, France might be Lalisa’s third home. In recent years, she has been seen travelling regularly to Paris—both for business and leisure. She’s know to celebrate French culture in its entirety, by performing a cabaret show, or enjoying a glass of champagne looking at l’Arc de Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower. Oui, Lisa is that Typa Girl.
