From soaring views of Downtown Doha to palatial private villas inspired by a Sheikh's residence, Doha doesn't miss a beat when it comes to luxury accommodations

Al Messila, A Luxury Collection Doha

Like a mirage located somewhere between the desert and the city, Al Messila Doha sits on a sprawling palace-like compound, surrounded by sparkling waterways and fragrant gardens filled with lush, indigenous flora.

The guest rooms are simple and elegant, with nods to local design elements. We particularly love the private pool villas, which are tucked away in the resort gardens for utmost privacy.

Some major draws here are the Al Messila VIP spa, which is one of the largest spas in Doha, and the hotel's nine restaurants inlcuding the Michelin-starred Veritas, a high-end Italian restaurant helmed by celebrity chef Pino Lavarra.

Banyan Tree Doha

Featuring impressive architecture and interior design by Jacques Garcia—who also designed The Peninsula Paris—Banyan Tree Doha is a world of its own inspired by the elements of earth, fire, air and water.

The hotel boasts 126 luxurious guest rooms including 66 suites, with rooms starting at a generous 650 square feet. The largest and most luxurious is the Harmony Sky Club Suite, which includes a formal dining room for up to eight guests and a spectacular marble bathroom.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Banyan Tree property without a Banyan Tree Spa. Here, there's a Rainforest Hydrotherapy area, featuring a series of hydrothermal stations designed to harness the healing and rejuvenating powers of water.

Dining options include a number of Banyan Tree's signatures, including the renowned Saffron for royal Thai cuisine and a Vertigo rooftop bar with panoramic coastline views.

Four Seasons Hotel Doha

This neo-classical building located on Doha's waterfront has been a landmark since it opened in 2005. And in March 2020, Four Seasons Hotel Doha unveiled a fresh new look following a complete design overhaul by award-winning interior designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon.

Vast, airy spaces are met with contemporary-classic elements including statement chandeliers, soaring archways and ornate furniture. The guest rooms, dressed in soothing shades of white and blue, offer superb views of the Arabian Gulf and Downtown Doha.

To relax, there’s a three-storey spa and the exclusive Palm Jumeirah beach just steps away from the hotel.

Four Seasons Hotel Doha is also home to the world's largest (and arguably most spectacular) Nobu restaurant. The 26,000-square-foot Nobu Doha is located on its own private island in the Gulf of Arabia, in a futuristic shell-like structure.

Mandarin Oriental Doha

Located in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, Mandarin Oriental Doha is a beautiful display of modern Qatari design by David Collins Studio. The hotel boasts two rooftop pools, flanked by cabanas for luxurious poolside lounging, and 10 restaurants and bars including Izu, a chic French-Mediterranean bistro, and high-end Chinese restaurant, Liang.

Mandarin Oriental Doha has a total of 249 guest rooms, suites and apartments, many of which have terraces with stunning views over Msheireb.

Tatler tip: Book Mandarin Oriental Doha's Royal Suite, an ultra-luxurious 5,000 square-foot suite which comes with its own private lift, plunge pool and an an open-air courtyard.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski

Located on The Pearl-Qatar, a man-made island, Marsa Malaz Kempinski has plenty of luxury offerings for its guests including its own private beach and a spa by luxury French beauty brand, Clarins. The hotel also houses a museum-worthy collection of artworks, with some 3,000 sculptures, artworks and intricate chandeliers on display.

Kempinski really shows off with Marsa Malaz' suites, which includes a Panoramic Suite with 180-degree coastal views, two Presidential Suites with private lap pools, and ultra-indulgent 7,000 square-foot Royal Suites that feature extra-large circular beds in the master bedroom, a private terrace with an oversized jacuzzi, and marble bathrooms stocked with Bulgari amenities.

Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel

Designed to resemble a traditional Qatari village, Sharq Village & Spa is a spread-out property of low-rise buildings including 174 guest rooms, a spa with no less than 250 treatments on offer and large turquoise pools lined with soaring palm trees. There's even a private beach with gazebos available to rent, which is lovely for a private, romantic dinner by the water.

The Royal Villa is among the most luxurious accommodations in Doha. Designed with a sheikh’s palace in mind, this unapologetically over-the-top villa takes over 21,000 square feet spread over two levels. It has a 602 square-foot indoor pool with a fountain (because why not?), a small private gym and spa treatment area as well as a fully-equipped kitchen should you choose to invite a celebrity chef to cook for you and your loved ones.
