This will be the cruise line's debut into Southeast Asia
Disney fans, time to grab your Mickey ears and get ready to cruise. Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Disney Cruise Line have just announced a collaboration to base a Disney cruise ship right here in Singapore. The collaboration will see the Disney cruise line’s newest and largest vessel making Singapore its exclusive home port from 2025 for five years.
In an official announcement, minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Mr S Iswaran shared: “This is a major milestone in the evolution of our cruise industry… Disney Cruise Line’s decision to homeport in Singapore affirms our position as the region’s premier cruise hub and a major player in cruise tourism.”

According to Disney Cruise Line News, the new ship is estimated to carry 6,000 passengers and over 2,000 crew members. It is also said to run on green methanol, an environmentally-friendly low emission fuel. The ship will also feature the cruise line’s signature red funnels.
This is not the first time a collaboration between STB and Disney is taking place. In fact, a three-year collaboration began in 2017 which saw Singapore hosting multiple Disney-themed events and experiences. Some of them include Star Wars Day: May The 4th Be With You, a festival that saw our iconic Supertrees transform into lightsaber “sabertrees”.
