Pure imagination

Legendary actor and director Sylvia Chang is bringing to Hong Kong this month her latest stage production: A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Sylvia Chang. In this reinterpretation of William Shakespeare’s comedy, Chang sees herself playing 14 out of the almost 20 characters. No wonder she told us that her “imagination keeps expanding”.

Imagination is the beginning of creation—whether that is character development, crafts, or design. And what our minds and souls conjure, our hands create. In this week’s newsletter, we meet those who bring their imaginings to life. Such as mainland Chinese jewellery designer Wallis Hong, who shows us how he expresses his inner world through his designs. And if you want to feel like you’ve walked into someone’s imagination, have a look at the unique architecture of these five luxury heritage hotels in Asia.

Other newsletter highlights this week:

Dear Tatler readers, this weekend, dive into your imagination and let your creativity resurface. Until next time, have a happy Friday!
