Award-winning serial entrepreneur Joel Neoh now heads a smart payment app

Joel Neoh started establishing start-ups at the age of 20. He is perhaps best known as the CEO and vice-president of Groupon Asia Pacific, a company he joined after it bought over his social e-commerce start-up GroupsMore, and where within three years he was responsible for 12 markets. Moving on from Groupon, Joel founded Kfit, a platform that connects users to fitness studios, classes and gyms across Asia-Pacific.

Following that, he started Fave, a smart payment app that enables consumers to pay and save on everything from daily necessities to leisure activities and travel. Joel is also known as the co-founder of BookDoc, which he partnered with fellow successful entrepreneur Dato’ Chevy Beh to establish. The online and mobile healthcare platform enables patients to search, connect and book appointments with healthcare professionals and arrange for their accommodation and transport for a seamless experience.

Besides winning the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award for the Emerging Entrepreneur category in 2012, in recognition of Fave, Joel was also awarded Asia’s 2018 Top CEO of the Year Award at the Asia CEO Summit & Award Ceremony.

In March 2023, Joel left his position at Fave. Shortly after, in June 2023, he joined as managing director for CircleDNA. He also started an early-stage fund called First Move to invest in consumer-focused startups in Southeast Asia. As of July 2023, the fund invested in seven startups including Indonesia's Giggly Coco, Malaysia's Scentses & Co and Singapore's Evolut Commerce.
