And yet, a young Yap chose to walk his own path, holding workshops, writing books and learning more and more about the subject until he became one of the leading authorities in feng shui and Chinese metaphysics in the world. Today, the expert runs the Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics to formalise the learning of classical subjects such as feng shui, physiognomy and divination, which in turn democratises their mastery as more people now have access to knowledge. Yap also leads a team of feng shui consultants who have worked with people and companies around the world, including premier developers such as Sime Darby. 

In his February 2024 forecast for Tatler, he prescribes perseverance for Dragons: “With determination and taking things one step at a time, you will find the tenacity to move forward and find the solutions to your issues”.

In an interview with Tatler, Jesse Tang expressed the role of astrology this way: that it can be a hopeful reminder that change is possible, especially during difficult moments. For the veteran astrologer, it can be a cue to act—something that Tang herself has applied in her life, seeing in advance the key moments when to make decisions and turn things around.

By divining meaning from the movement of the planets, the stars and the moon, the celebrity astrologer has amassed a large following in Taiwan and Asia. She shares her guidance on various platforms, including podcasts, books and television, but nowhere else has she found more success than in social media, with 1.6 million followers on Facebook and over one million followers on YouTube.

In her forecast for the first half of 2024 for Tatler, Tang highlights how the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus brings strange energy, which she describes as “not necessarily bad”, as this can lead to unexpected beginnings. For her, the outcome depends on how each person handles it.
