Football pundits need no telling, but Tiki Taka is named for a style of fancy footwork

 

Pinxtos, tapas and sharing plates are the order of the day at Tiki Taka, a resto-bar founded by restaurateur and digital marketing maven Hans Gill. Head chef Carrie Scully oversees all things delicious here, from the Wild Boar Rendang to the Sin Is King Pork Pizza. Accompanied by soft baguette slices, the former sees fork-tender meat with a flawless marinade, whereas the latter is topped with bacon slices so long that they extend over the edges of the pizza—how’s that for comfort food? Though the restaurant might want to consider taking down their Christmas décor mid-year, Tiki Taka’s overall aesthetic inspires laid-back vibes, what with its handsome mahogany interior and cooling al fresco area. This is clearly a place where old pals can catch up without worrying about dressing up, while also nursing a stiff drink and exchanging banter with the affable staff.

ON THE PASS

A self-professed sweet tooth, Chef Carrie Scully will scarf down cakes and pastries, but not a Freakshake—one of those gargantuan milkshakes that have thankfully gone out of style.
