A reincarnation of SevenAteNine, Tujo is a popular spot for pints and sharing platters

Parked at the base of the Ascott Kuala Lumpur, which has become part of the fabric of KL’s Golden Triangle, Tujo is a reincarnation of SevenAteNine. Granted, the resto-bar has seen its heyday, but being located on prime retail estate has its perks. A popular spot for afterwork drinks, Tujo is a magnet for weary office workers who crave frosty pints of beer and sizable servings of comfort food. Home to KL’s first and only pizza with squid ink-dyed dough, the kitchen does a fair job of Western staples, but it’s the Asian dishes that leave an impression, namely the Short Rib Nasi Lemak; Malaysia’s ‘national dish’ gets a makeover by being served in ‘deconstructed’ fashion—ideal for diners who aren’t keen on anchovies or peanuts.

TATLER TIP
