It is with fierce pride that Malaysia Tatler stakes a claim to the title of 'the nation's longest running publication.' Equally prestigious is the Tatler Ball, an exclusive fête that's the talk of the town each year. But the ball's success can only be attributed to our partners and friends, to whom we would like to issue this shoutout!

1. The Refreshing Change Of Venue

One or two veterans may have heaved a sigh of relief to hear about this year's change of venue (the first in years!). Moving from Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur to the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, #mytatlerball2018 unfurled with all the pomp and splendour deserving of the leading luxury hotel chain. Taking over the Four Seasons Hotel's entire grand ballroom and foyer, Tatler Ball 2018 was gussied up by Razak Luxe Decor, whose dreamy flower arrangements and table centrepieces incorporated thousands of real roses.

2. The Bespoke Cocktails Shaken & Stirred By Hennessy

Return visits to the open bar can be credited to two Hennessy cocktails crafted exclusively for #mytatlerball2018: the Hennessy Passionate Night, a tropical libation comprised of Hennessy VSOP, yuzu juice, passionfruit syrup, soda water and edible flowers, as well as the floral Hennessy Royal containing Hennessy VSOP, rose syrup, peach puree, apple juice, soda water and sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Making polaroid pictures a thing of the past, M101 provided an unusual photo opportunity by way of 'moving prints.' Guests were invited to step up to a photo wall where M101 representatives were on standby. Minutes later, they received their Harry Potter-esque memorabilia.

4. The Photo Booth By Samsung

Providing an alternate photo opportunity, Samsung had set up a makeshift photo studio just outside the Grand Ballroom. Nevermind the fact that it was night-time: the Galaxy Note9's dual aperture lens intelligently adapted to its surroundings much like the human eye. Guests took home crisp and colourful selfies thanks to the camera's HDR capabilities.

5. The Personalised Favours & Sweet Door Gifts

Marble coasters thoughtfully embellished by United Overseas Bank (UOB) made it easy for each guest to find his or her respective seat once the ballroom doors were flung open (though some admittedly swapped coasters to sidle up to long lost acquaintances). As a romantic gesture, we also placed a single stalk rose at every seat with a tag reading, ''Please present this card for door gift redemption." At the end of the night, guests were gifted boxes of Ladurée's signature macarons plus Lancôme's well-reviewed Absolue Precious Cells Rose Mask.

A banquet to remember, dinner began with Foie Gras Torchon and Loch Fyne Salmon before moving on to Mushroom Veloute capped with a puff pastry dome and melt-in-your-mouth Tornedoes of Beef Tenderloin. Silken Chocolate Crémeux rounded out the intensely satisfying meal. Cape Mentelle wine pairings provided by Möet Hennessy Diageo and scintillating gold-rimmed dinner plates by Noritake accentuated the decadent meal.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect; dinner was cleared and dessert was served just in time for the awards ceremony. In addition to towering trophies designed by Lalique, this year's winners across 5 categories—Couple of The Year; Force For Good; Most Stylish Woman; Entrepreneur Par Excellence; and Diamond of Excellence—received vouchers for RM10,000's worth of goods from Melium, Club 21 and Fendi, as well as jewellery from Tiffany & Co. and a luxury timepiece from Cortina Watches.
