WHY HIM? Joe has put Malaysian hip-hop on the global map. As well as his success as a solo artist and as a member of hip-hop duo Too Phat, Joe is the founder of Kartel Records, one of the biggest record labels in Asia that also represents Malaysian rapper Altimet and singer SonaOne. But he isn’t just a one-trick pony. He took the male makeover scene to the next level by opening Joe’s Barbershop, and was recently announced Malaysia’s first ever Hublot Friend Of the Brand.

2. Tengku Fahd Mu’adzam Shah

WHY HIM? Now that Prince Harry is off the market, single royals are few and far between. The young prince of Pahang state (he’s only in his early 20s) recently returned home to Malaysia after completing his studies in the UK and the US. Now’s your chance.

NATURAL HABITAT: Outdoors. Tengku Fahd loves sports and is a passionate advocate for conservation and the environment.

3. Devan Linus Rajadurai

WHY HIM? A financial whizz, Devan cofounded Malayan Traders Capital (MTC), the first hedge fund in Malaysia.

CAVEAT: If you wanna be his lover, you gotta get with his friends. Devan co-founded MTC with two of his closest friends, Aaron Yew and Donovan Ng. He’s also close friends with fitness guru Aidil Azman.

PSSST: Being a natural with numbers runs in the family. In the 1960s, Devan’s grandfather became the first Malaysian to be appointed chairman of the then Stock Exchange of Malaysia and Singapore.

4. Dato' Chevy Beh

WHY HIM? When you manage to get past his cherubic good looks, you’ll discover a goal-digging quality in the founder of Medtech company BookDoc. The young Dato’ is pioneer of the Malaysian health tech startup that gives consumers mobile access to healthcare. In sickness and health, he’s the man to rely on.

NATURAL HABITAT: On his off days, Dato' Chevy can be found on world-class polo circuits, pursued by royal opponents.

PERKS: Apart from the probability of post-game drinks with Prince Harry, getting whisked off on dates in one of Dato' Chevy's supercars.

5. Ezra Zaid

WHY HIM? If vocal guys are your type, Ezra’s the man who will stimulate you with meaningful conversations, backed by a career in radio hosting and as a media personality. The son of lawyer and political figure Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, brains and integrity are in his bones. As such, he’s very expressive of his beliefs, and he sure as heck will stand up for you.

NATURAL HABITAT: Ezra loves a good game of golf, especially with his mother Datin Suliana Shamsuddin.

6. Pandelela Rinong

WHY HER? Pandelela is a national treasure. She first exploded into the public’s consciousness when she won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics for 10-metre platform diving. She’s since added to her medal haul at various international competitions, including the World Championships.

THAT’S NOT ALL: On top of her demanding training schedule, she’s currently studying for a sports science degree at the University of Malaya.

7. Lim May Shen

WHY HER? As the founder of The Nail Parlour chain of salons, which now numbers 11 outlets around the Klang Valley, May Shen is as smart as she is stylish. When she’s not building her business empire, you can find her treating herself to weekends away at luxurious resorts around the world.

CAVEAT She’s incredibly close to her sister, Lim May Jian, so if you want to win May Shen, you’ll have to impress her sister too.

8. Sarah Lian

WHY HER? Smart, funny, athletic and incredibly beautiful, model and TV personality Sarah splits her time between Canada and Malaysia. As she has everything going for her, the real question is: why not?
