Tatlergrams Of The Week: Highlights Of #Chrysfaliqeverafter Part 2: A Fantasy Wedding Reception
July 9, 2018 | BY Jessica Liew
In continuation of the #Chrysfaliqeverafter union of the year, Faliq Nasimuddin and Chryseis Tan threw an extravagant wedding dinner reception that trumped all weddings at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition (MITEC) attended by the uppercrust and VIPs of local and international society.
Famous guests entered the virtual palace of fresh flowers, floating clouds and suspended crystal beadwork, encircling the 124 tables. Gracing the handsome couple’s union were royals including the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, Johor’s Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim, HRH Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang and Terengganu’s Sultanah Nur Zahirah. The evening was equal parts romantic, heartwarming and nostalgic, starting with the bridal march of Faliq and Chryseis in a resplendant Fiziwoo gown, a welcome speech by Tan Sri Vincent Tan to his new son-in-law, and a tribute to the late Tan Sri Nasimuddin by Datuk Wira SM Faisal Nasimuddin.
Westlife’s Shane Filan ‘casually’ walked in to serenade the couple’s cake-cutting ceremony, and boyband Blue carried on the 90s torch, crooning for the lovebirds’ first dance. Needless to say, the couple sealed their new life status with an after-party of singing, dancing, and overdue reunions.
Ahead of our official dinner reception gallery, we bring you some of the event's highlights:
To begin with, let's take a moment to enjoy this view from emcee Yasmin Yusuff's vantage point.
The best Kodak moments are those in-between shots of the Nasimuddin family portrait.
The Tan clan inducting Faliq into the family, dressed in the themes of gold and pink.
The wedding couldn't be complete without the groomsmen and bridesmaids, who were there throughout the wedding planning frenzy with Faliq and Chryseis.
A top to toe look of Chryseis's Fiziwoo pleated songket dress with silk tulle appliqué.
The star-studded guest list saw royal attendees including Johor's Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim and husband Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
Fashionistas and prominent influencers like Jane Chuck came dressed in their sleekest looks.
The couple cutting into a towering tiered cake befitting of their #Chrysfaliqeverafter wedding grandeur.
Joining the eclectic mix of VIPs were Malaysian royalties: Here, Marion Caunter and the Nasimuddins extend a warm welcome to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.
Fancy making your bridal entrance under this dreamy spectable of suspended clouds and crystal work, to the live vocals of legendary songstress Dayang Nurfaizah...
The wedding was truly a family affair, with Nadia Nasimuddin revealing that her 'food belly' was indeed, a bun in the oven for 5 months now!
Chryseis's family friend Koh Li Tim and gang cheered on the newlyweds by being the life of the party...
Until boy band Blue infected the crowd of largely 90s kids with a sentimental throwback that brought everyone to the dance floor.
International socialites like Hong Kong's Tienyo Mayao flew in specially for the event, and took advantage of the scenic atmosphere for trippy photos like this.
You can count on Faliq's red carpet gang like Firhan Yasser and Ung Yiu Lin to come in their best-dressed finery.
The bride switched into a flirty, 2-piece dress for the after party, that saw her shimmy away all night long...
A second bridal march and change of clothes signalled the start of the #Chrysfaliqeverafter after party.
An epic dance off ensued between the competitive groomsmen and bridesmaids, led here by Li Tim, Shaun Mak and Boon Tan...
But none could beat the adorable first dance executed to perfection by Chryseis and Faliq.
Congratulations, and here's to the eternal love of #Chrysfaliqeverafter! Now that you've gone behind the lenses of their friends and family, click here for to view the official wedding reception gallery.
