It was an eventful weekend of family and friends' reunion parties among the Chinese high society community. Dressed in festive ensembles, they gave the season 'a run for its money', paying respects to their elders, exchanging 'ang pows' and partaking of symbolic food. In light of this year's Chinese animal zodiac, pet dogs were an 'im-paw-tant' photo subject: Lyn Siew's adorable corgi kept her company at wine o' clock, a pup begged and won Valerie Ong's  attention pitted against a sea of hampers, and Teddy the Golden Retriever dominated Celest Thoi's family portrait. Worthy of mention were the recurring coordinated outfits worn by stylish mamas Shaine Wong and her children, Elizabeth Lee-Yong and daughter Blake, and Jenn Low with 1-year-old Olivia. Scroll down to see the best society moments over Chinese New Year.

Our February cover couple Roen Cian Nagapan and Carey Ng gave 22-week-old baby Shaelyn Rey a first taste of her Chinese heritage. Rather than the conventional mum-daughter twinning outfits, the daddy’s girl matched with Roen’s pink theme.

Behind every calm and collected photo is a series of candid takes, whenever the Yong sisters are around. You could say that they got it from their mama, Penny.

We highly approve Lyn’s idea of balance: A glass of wine in one hand, and a corgi in the other.

It's not easy getting a brood of fidgety children to hold still for a family photo. Parenting pros Lim Ai San and Tan Shen Wain are living proof of that.

One of the best things about Chinese New Year? Getting creative with the ever growing, extended family such as Michele Kwok's.
