These are strange times indeed, to be competing in lockdown with a pandemic still raging. But, judging from these Instagram posts, our athletes competing at Tokyo Olympics are ready to embrace the Games' motto of Faster, Higher, Stronger
At last night's Tokyo Olympics 2020 opening ceremony, badminton champs Lee Zii Jia and Goh Liu Ying led the Malaysian contingent in the athletes parade. Notably as well, the opening ceremony saw tennis champ Naomi Osaka lighting the Olympic cauldron, her first sporting event appearance since withdrawing from the French Open in May this year.
A total of 30 athletes from Malaysia will be competing in 10 sports this year. Despite the unusual circumstances, they, along with thousands of their peers from more than 200 countries, are set to do their best and make the Games one to remember.
