3 Casio G-Shock Novelties Celebrating The Iconic Watch’s 35th Anniversary
Nigo x K.Ibe Collection
In a case of an icon meeting an icon, the inventor of G-Shock, Kikuo Ibe, collaborates with cult Japanese streetwear designer Nigo, the founder of A Bathing Ape, on two neon-coloured watches. The simple digital watches are brought to vivid life with two layers translucent plastic coated in either yellow (DW-5635-9) based on the original G-Shock or fluorescent pink (DW-6935-4) based on DW-6900 series, which is the basis of many collaborative models. A UV-resistant paint is added to prevent discolouring.
GA-700-EH-1A Limited Edition By Eric Haze
A frequent collaborator with G-Shock for over 20 years, American street artist and graphic designer Eric Haze creates a sleek black-and-white watch from the GA-700 series that comes with both analog and digital time display. The strap features a striking brushstroke-inspired design while the caseback is engraved with Haze’s logo.
Eric Haze also puts his stamp here, specifically the 35th anniversary logo on the caseback. The collection features four models dressed up entirely in matte red for unparalleled fierceness. The choice of models include DW-5635C that pays tribute to the first G-Shock, DW-5735C based on an early round case model with digital LCD, DW-6935C, and the oversized GA-735C.
