At first sight, the handsome perfumerie, Henry Jacques in Pavilion KL, evokes a scene out of a historic Paris and with valid reason: the haute French label’s second standalone boutique in Asia was assembled in France, vacuum-packed, then reassembled in its new 650 sq-ft-home in Malaysia. The boutique is designed from solid oak in a light brown shade, boasts gilded finishing, and ceilings covered in Régence gold leaf and patina by French master painter, Louis-Daniel Jouve. Two large open windows in the front façade invite passersby a glimpse of the magical scene within, anchored by a centrally placed perfume organ concealing scents waiting to be explored.
