Jennifer Lopez is building up her fashion empire by launching a debut high-end shoe line with Giuseppe Zanotti.

The pop star and actress is teaming up with the luxury fashion and footwear designer on a capsule collection christened #GiuseppexJennifer, to go on sale worldwide in January 2017.

According to WWD, the line will go on show at the Footwear Fashion Association of New York this August, but until then design details are being kept under wraps. However, if a photo posted to the designer's Instagram page that shows the duo talking while surrounded by examples is anything to go by, we can expect a bold and glamorous combination of barely-there stilettos, sparkly lace-up open boots and knee-high snakeskin-heeled gladiator sandals. The line, which will reportedly also feature two handbag designs, is set to retail for $795 - $1,195.

This might be her highest-end style project to date, but Lopez is no stranger to design. She has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the budget retailer Kohl's, having designed her first everyday fashion collection for the brand back in 2011, and first launched her own eponymous J.LO clothing and lifestyle line -- no longer in operation -- back in 2001. Under the perfume giant Coty she has also launched a total of 17 different fragrances.

Zanotti, known for his high-octane, ultra glamorous pieces, has previously crafted shoes for stars including Kim Kardashian and Janet Jackson and has even worked on designs with Beyoncé and Anja Rubik, but this is his first major celebrity collaboration to date. Of working with the designer, Lopez told WWD: "It's impossible not to feel like a more confident, sexier version of yourself when you're wearing a pair of Zanottis. The shoes are so in line with my personal style, it felt easy and natural."

Another pop star with a shoe collection underway: Rihanna, who has teamed up with Manolo Blahnik.
