Amanda Seyfried for Clé de Peau Beauté

We spoke to Amanda Seyfried on what it's like being a Hollywood star and the face of Clé de Peau Beauté at the same time.

It’s not an everyday thing to meet an award-winning Hollywood actress. What’s more, to have her sitting in a private room, waiting for your arrival. One fine sunny day in Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong, Amanda Seyfried was all ready for an interview with us. No words can describe our excitement and pleasure in having the opportunity to converse (and if lucky, take a group picture) with one of the main cast members of Lovelace.

From her portrayals in movies like Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!, Dear John, Red Riding Hood, Les Misérables and more, Seyfried has shown her many faces ranging from fragile and frail to serious and strong. Though these are the ‘faces’ we often see on screen, her true self is refreshingly simple and bubbly. In her all-American accent she says, “Hello!” in a little high-pitch voice that reflected her excitement at meeting us. In a casual dress and cardigan with minimal make-up, Seyfried still looks amazingly stunning. The 27-year-old
model can surely pull off many different looks. Just the day before she was attending Clé de Peau Beauté’s gala dinner at the ArtisTree looking gorgeous in a red Givenchy dress.

Brimming with confidence, Seyfried shared with us her adventures as a Hollywood star. “Being an actress requires a lot of stamina and energy. Especially when it comes to shooting a movie, sometimes your set is situated at a place you could never imagine. I remember there was this one time I was in a desert for a movie scene,” says the green-eyed blonde.

Known for her natural beauty, Seyfried was included in the lists for Most Beautiful at Every Age, 50 Most Glamorous Women, Sexiest Stars under 30 and more as she rose to fame. Also known for her brilliant acting skills, Seyfried was surprised – and delighted – when she was chosen to be the face of Clé de Peau Beauté. “Representing the brand, I believe it has uplifted my self-esteem. I’m more confident to be out there and be who I really am. What empowers me most is that I am able to speak to women all over the world and encourage them to feel confident and beautiful by looking their best,” she confesses.

The nature of her job has not been kind to her skin and complexion. During the filming of a movie or a talk show, her skin is constantly exposed to heavy make-up and hot spotlights. “I drink a lot of water every day. It is essential for your health and your skin,” says Seyfried. “It takes a lot of effort to maintain my beauty regime. There are many times when I get so tired at home that I feel like just going to bed and sleeping but I can’t do that. Regardless of how tired you are, you must always remove your make-up and sleep with a clean face.

“Lucky for me, I have Clé de Peau Beauté’s skincare products to rejuvenate my skin as I sleep to protect it against harmful substances encountered during the day. This is one of the reasons why I love their make-up as well. Not only does the effect look natural, with so much of effort and research put into it, I feel healthier as I put the products on my face. I’m so excited with their new Extra Rich Lipstick range. It comes in so many colours and I can’t wait to try them all!”

Clé de Peau Beauté recently collaborated with colour creator Lucia Pieroni and launched their new range of colours for lipsticks, lip liners and eye make-up inspired by roses.

As we end our half-hour interview, Seyfried told us to visit the giant yellow rubber duck that was docked in Victoria Harbour. Pointing outside the window where the giant duck appeared to be a mini toy she excitedly said, “It’s really cute!” And that concluded our time with her as she bid us farewell with a beautiful smile.
