In June, Tatler attended Guerlain's exclusive Skincare Symposium ahead of the release of their revolutionary Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil.
Frédéric Bonté, head of research at Guerlain, reveals that this new product incorporates a breakthrough scientific discovery after decades of bee conservation and research: honey from the Ouessant Island black bees. "Located off the Brittany coast, the island is a uniquely preserved environment without pesticides, pollution and disease for bees. The bees forage the rich flora that's native to the island, which gives the honey its unique composition," he explains.
"This honey is rich in essential amino acids and cofactors, which play a key role in skin self-repair at a level much deeper than the surface."
Moreover, its luxurious texture—a combination of water and oil with delicate microbeads—allows for deeper penetration and quicker results of smoother, plumper and revitalised skin. The experts at the Skincare Symposium recommend massaging 3 drops of oil onto thoroughly cleansed skin, followed by serum and moisturiser.
