Benefit Eyebrow Pencils: A Surprising Match For Untameable Brows

Do women with bushy eyebrows need eyebrow pencils? Normally, I'd answer this with a no, but the art of defining thick eyebrows isn't always about necessity as much as it is about looking and feeling great. For me, this process gets a whole lot easier with two of Benefit’s fuss-free eyebrow pencils.

For those of us who have been generously endowed in the facial hair department, eyebrow pencils might be considered somewhat redundant.

In reality, even the thickest eyebrows could use a little help every so often when it comes to getting the perfect shape, especially when you can’t spare the time to sit through eyebrow threading or tinting.

For my part, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by 2 eyebrow products from Benefit Cosmetics: the Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil and the Precisely, My Brow Pencil, priced at RM125 each.

Goof-Proof Those Brows

Before this my default eye-brow shaping routine involved a few swipes of dark brown eyebrow powder with an angled brush.

Admittedly not the fastest solution, it was the best I had so far given that I’d often experienced itchiness and irritation when using eyebrow pencils in the past.

Benefit’s Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil promises fast and easy filling thanks to a ‘goof-proof’ angled tip, and that’s exactly what it does. I’m not kidding when I say it stays on a long time – an achievement considering my bad habit of constantly fiddling with my brows throughout the day.

A tip for thick brows: the built-in blending spoolie brush on the opposite side of the Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil is now my weapon of choice to comb down unruly brow hairs first to catch empty spots, colour them in along with the eyebrow arches and then blend lightly with the spoolie brush again.

Precisely On Point

Another handy tool for enhancing thick brows, the Precisely, My Brow Pencil has an ultrafine tip that offers greater control when I'm touching up the tops of my eyebrow arches.

I’ve always preferred the natural look vs the dramatic stage-makeup effect. Even when you've enhanced those arches considerably, it’s always nice when people can’t tell that you’ve drawn in your brows.

That’s the effect I like best about the Precisely, My Brow pencil: it does its job subtly and stays on beautifully even on the sweatiest of days.
