These Watches Flex Their Muscles In 2 Different Sporting Competitions
Breitling x Ironman
Breitling is the new Official Luxury Watch for Ironman, the largest participation sports platform in the world. This partnership complements its Triathlon Squad that consists of Jan Frodeno, Chris McCormack and Daniela Ryf, all of whom were Ironman champions at one time or another. The Ironman Triathlon Series, one of the toughest single-day endurance races, requires participants to swim 3.8km, cycle 180km and run 42.2km.
To celebrate this partnership, Breitling has created the Superocean Automatic Ironman Limited Edition in 44mm stainless steel case. The Ironman logo is clearly visible on the dial at 3 o’clock, and is complemented with a red Diver Pro III rubber strap. The diver is equipped with the automatic Caliber 17 movement that guarantees optimal performance under intense conditions with an excellent chronometry certified by COSC, depth resistance up to 1,000m, and a power reserve of 38 hours. Limited to 300 pieces.
Tissot x Tour de France
As the Official Timepiece and the Official Timekeeper of Tour de France 2019, the world’s most prestigious cycling event, Tissot is also taking the opportunity to pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of maillot jaune, the iconic yellow jersey presented to the cyclist in the lead at each stage of the race.
The new Chrono XL Tour de France is crafted in 45mm stainless steel case coated in grey PVD and features a black dial with two sub-dials in yellow. The logo of Tour de France is engraved on the caseback. Powered by a tri-compax quartz chronograph, the leather strap gets a fun touch with assorted images of the yellow jersey. The watch was also presented to Egan Bernal, the winner of this year’s Tour de France who is also the first South American to do so.
