From June 1 to July 31, Cartier will be showcasing over 850 pieces from their vast archives and various prized private collections, in a culturally enriching showcase at the Palace Museum.

Ten years ago, a cultural event at the Meridian Gate Gallery of the Palace Museum in Beijing dubbed Cartier Treasures etched a bedazzled impression upon jewellery connoisseurs, both east and west. This year, the collaboration returns in the form of Beyond Boundaries, presented once more by Cartier and the Palace Museum from June 1 to July 31, 2019.

Treasured Ties

A culmination of both China and the jewellery brand’s friendship, the dazzling extravaganza marries their shared inspirations and savoir-faire. This time, the exhibition curates a travel through time and space, arriving at their shared appreciation for cultural connections and treasures.

The exhibition revolves around 3 universes, made possible by a thematic interpretation and in-depth know-how. Scenographer Nathalie Crinière is commissioned to play out this vision, using elements like the calligrapher’s brush stroke throughout the space, along with immersive animations.

Rare Finds

The  stars of the showcase span more than 850 pieces, amassed from the Cartier Collection, its archives, collections from renowned galleries and museums, and privately-owned collections, including that of royals.

As the exhibition’s name suggest, visitors can expect a creative exchange, tipping the scales of poetry and philosophy.
