Since 2014, Yap Po Leen has been on the lookout for out-of-the-ordinary clutches and bags that can add that wow factor to her outfits. Here are some of her favourites.
A woman is usually either a shoe or a bag person. Yap Po Leen is the latter through and through.
The evidence lies in the many times we’ve spotted her at events, always carrying incredibly eye-catching clutches. Calling them statement clutches doesn’t quite cut it; a handheld in the shape of a hot air balloon or a chocolate milk carton makes more than just a statement.
“A bag certainly is a very important accessory to me,” says the young fashionista who has also once graced our Malaysia Tatler cover. “It can become a conversation starter and tell about someone's personality."

“I like interesting and unique bags, especially those from upcoming designers who have exciting collections,” she elaborates. “I don’t look out for specifics, just whatever attracts my attention and those that no one really has.”

Kate Spade 'Chocolate Milk' Bag
"Chocolate milk is yummy! When I was a kid, I didn't like milk much but I liked it when Hershey's chocolate was added. This bag brings back memories and is a cute addition to my collection."

"Sophia Webster's shoes and bags are all fun and statement pieces. This bag has attitude and can definitely brighten up any outfit."
Kate Spade 'Hot Air Balloon' Bag
"I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon and when I saw this bag, I immediately fell in love with it. It also made me daydream. This bag certainly got people's attention!"
Cecilia Ma 'Drink Me' Clutch
"M store in Pavilion carries a range of interesting brands and it is one of my favourite stores. I walked in one day and saw this bag and thought it was very special. So edgy and funky, a very unique evening clutch. Always a plus when it is spacious enough too."
